Barbara Martin (Blake) 83, of Rockland, passed away on the morning of November 11th, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on July 12th to her parents Mary Frances Coyne and Martin A. Blake. As a young girl, living in South Boston, Barbara grew a fond love of celebrating St. Patrick's Day. In 1960, Barbara married her true love John Martin. They are survived by their children, John and his wife Tracy, Michael and his wife Kim, Eric, Brian and his wife Susan, Matthew and his wife Lisa, and Maura and her partner Robert. Barbara is also survived by her brother Michael Blake and his wife Joan as well as many nieces and nephews. John "Papa" and Barbara "G G" leave behind a legacy of 22 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

As an avid traveler, the last stop in her travels is into the arms of her loving husband, John, where she will be free to dance again. Along with John, she is welcomed by her parents and siblings, Edward Leonard, James Leonard, and Martin Blake as well as her beloved grandson, Brian Martin Jr.

You could always catch a smile on GG’s face when she was spending time with her grandchildren eating breakfast or going shopping, on the hunt for the next nutcracker! Barbara was always up for a round of bingo or nickels and cribbage. Visiting Newport, Rhode Island became a tradition and a margarita in her hand always made the adventure that much better. She formed many relationships through the VFW as the former State President of the ladies auxiliary and always loved spending time with the friends she made there.

The Martin family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Barbara’s life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Abington.
