I'm sure Uncle Art didn't see himself as a teacher, but for me as a kid he was quite the educator! He taught me my first "dirty" joke ( Did you hear about the butterball turkey recall? They forgot to butter the balls!). He taught me how to make spaghetti sauce and meatballs - although it was never as good as his, and really, is anyone's? I think the most important thing he taught me was that adults could still have fun, be silly and love to laugh. I so loved when we were together, because his sense of fun was infectious and it would loosen up the other adults. Thank you Uncle Sparky for teaching me that you can grow old, but you don't have to grow up! Much love, Nancy

To my Dad, my buddy, my friend - I will miss you like crazy. I already do. I will miss our special relationship, I will miss caring and protecting you. We've had so many good times all throughout our life together. You were funny and fun. You are the biggest part of my heart that I will treasure always. I love you, Dad more than any words could describe. I hope that Charlotte (Mom) welcomed you with open arms upon your arrival. I loved that you called me Dad. Rest easy now - and I hope your feet are finally warm! Xoxo Love you Daddy, Pammy

Arthur you toiled on earth and completed your work. Now the Lord needs some strong hands and internal strength to assist him. You will be just the correct person to assist the Lord with his tasks. Pat and Harvey offer our condolences to your family and your 8 year companion Anna. May the Lord assist you all through difficult challenges.

Uncle Art, or Sparky, as he came to be known, was involved in so many of my most favorite childhood memories. He was always joking laughing and ready for a good time. He took my brother Bob and I to the GHO golf tournament several years in a row. I remember him gazing fondly at women and laughing and joking with us. I don't recall him ever being interested in golf though. Hmmm. I also have vivid memories of him napping and snoring with his mouth open in the striped chaise lounges under the trees. We sometimes tried to throw peanuts in his mouth - thank goodness we were never successful. Badminton, croquet, horseshoes - he was always ready to play a game with us - which was the most fun! All of those memories also include Uncle Art and his famous sauce! He was known far and wide for his sauce. Many tried to copy it but it never tasted like his did. His name will always bring a smile to my face and warm memories to my heart. Rest in peace Uncle Sparky. Love you! Marcia - niece
