Obituary For Anthony G. Aretino

Anthony G. Aretino "Tony", 73 of Pembroke died on April 21, 2014 at his home in Pembroke surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rockland son of the late George, and Mary (Umbrianna) Aretino. Tony was raised and educated in Rockland graduating from Rockland High School in 1958. Following high school Mr. Aretino joined the United States Marine Corps where he served proudly.

Mr. Aretino formerly worked for General Dynamics at the Quincy Ship Yard where he was employed as a painter. He later went to work for Keefe Construction of Pembroke as a foreman/carpenter, DelCorp Co. in Rockland where he worked in highway maintenance, and Jack Conway Co. where he was in charge of building maintenance.

Tony enjoyed caring for and maintaining his family home in Pembroke that he was proud to have built. He also loved working in his garden and spending time with his family.

Anthony is survived by his wife, Ellen (Hawkins) Aretino of Pembroke. Father of, Julie B. Slys of Pembroke, Clayton L. Strachan of CT, and Christopher Aretino of Pembroke. Brother of, MaryAnn Calderwood of Pembroke, Paul Aretino of Hanson, AnnMarie Hutchinson of Brockton, George Aretino of FL, and the late Josephine Sullivan. Grandfather of Nicholas Aretino, and Rebecca Aretino of Pembroke, and uncle to several nieces and nephews.

The Aretino Family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Tony's life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland on Thursday, May 1st, from 5:00-7:30 PM. A Memorial Service will follow visitation at 7:30 PM. Burial will be held in Bourne at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Donations to: Semper Fi Fund, Suite 102 – PMB 609 Oceanside, CA. 92057
