Annmarie “Annie” Avery (Prusik)

If you knew Annie, you knew laughter, kindness, and unconditional love. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family. Whether she was lending a helping hand, sharing a story, planning the next adventure, or simply making someone smile, Annie had a way of leaving every person and every place a little brighter than she found it. Her greatest joy wasn’t found in things—it was found in the people she loved.

Annmarie “Annie” Avery (Prusik), 66, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 15, 1960, in Boston, Massachusetts, Annie was the beloved daughter of the late Chester Prusik and the late Gertrude Prusik. She was raised in Boston before making her home in Norwood, Massachusetts, where she spent many happy years building a life filled with friendship, laughter, and family.

Above all else, Annie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nothing in life made her happier than being surrounded by the people she loved. Becoming “Nana” was one of life’s greatest gifts, and her four grandchildren were truly the center of her world. She loved every movie night, every holiday, every birthday, every adventure, and every ordinary moment spent together. They will forever carry her love with them.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Shannon Howard and her husband, Eric; her son, Jeffrey Avery; her cherished grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Madeline, and James; and her husband, Jeffrey Avery.

She is also survived by her sisters, Priscilla Farrell and her husband, Cal, of Worcester, Massachusetts, and Patricia Brewster and her husband, George, of Hanover, Massachusetts; her brother, Chester Prusik of Norwood, Massachusetts; her younger brother, Paul Prusik of Brockton, Massachusetts; and her younger sister and Paul’s twin, Paula Crowell and her husband John of Panama City, Florida. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were made better by knowing her.

Annie believed in helping others. She proudly volunteered through the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, the Elks, and the West Roxbury Moose Lodge, giving her time generously and never expecting anything in return. If someone needed help, Annie was often the first to show up.

She loved to travel and believed that life’s greatest treasures were the memories we make with those we love. Whether she was visiting Disney, exploring New Orleans or Belize, enjoying country music and oldies, or simply spending time with family, Annie embraced every opportunity to laugh, love, and make lasting memories.

She had an incredible sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and a heart that seemed to have room for everyone. She celebrated the good times, stood beside the people she loved through the hard times, and taught those around her that kindness costs nothing but means everything.

Although our hearts are broken by her loss, we are endlessly grateful for the love she gave, the lessons she taught, and the memories she leaves behind. Annie’s greatest legacy is not measured in years, but in the countless lives she touched with her generosity, compassion, and unwavering love.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Annie’s life on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, Massachusetts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Norwood VFW. Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter, food, and memories as they celebrate the remarkable life Annie lived.
