Obituary For Anne T. McDermott

Anne T. (Cunningham) McDermott, 88 formerly of Norwood died on August 20, 2017 at Plymouth Crossings in Plymouth surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Boston to Irish immigrants Michael F. and Julia T. (Lynch) Cunningham and was raised and educated in Roslindale.

She had been employed as a manager at Larkin Publications Company in Newton for several years. Anne loved to golf, sing, play cards and bocce had enjoyed the Dinner Club with the Boston Firefighters. She had a home in Naples, Florida where she spent winters for many years.

Wife of the late William P. McDermott, she was the mother of Patricia A. Lincoln and her late husband Jack of Lakeville, Janice M. Love and her husband Roger of Marshfield, Kathleen T. Cluff and her husband Mark of Kingston, Julie M. Ahern and her husband Peter of Attleboro and William P. McDermott, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Mansfield. She was the grandmother of Robyn Kenyon, Kellie Sullivan, Sarah McCourt, Heather Nary, Jessica Ahearn, Lauren Fitzgerald, Alexandra McDermott, Scott Cluff, Megan McDermott, Michelle Ahern and Andrew Ahern. Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren and several Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph P. Cunningham, Marie P. LaCroix and Kathleen C. Small.

The family welcomes family and friends to celebrate her life on Thursday August 24, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street in Rockland. A Funeral Mass will be held 9:00 AM on Friday August 25, 2017at Holy Family Church in Rockland. Burial will follow in at 12:30 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

    Sorry for the lateness of this entry...Annie was the Grand Lady of Green St....She was missed when she moved. I've many memories of her late night calls and all the great talks we had....She was very important to many in alot of ways...God Bless...Annie made my world a better place....Thank you

    Sending my condolences to family of Anne,also lovingly known as "Annie Mall". She was always full of fun. I can still see her performing on stage to tune of "good ship lollipop". So blessed to have known her.

    My little bananarama....Although I didn't know Annie for very long I will remember her forever. Her little witty sayings, sarcasm, and love for cookies and candy. She always made me smile and laugh each and every work day. Thoughts go out to all her loving family. Suzie

    To my dear friend Kathy, as well as Patty, Janis, Julie and Billy as well as all your families, what wonderful memories I have with both your parents, Kathy and I doing the errands on Saturday which included a case of "Tonic" from Walpole bottling and your Dad's Pretzel Rods! Love your Moms laughter and her energy! She will be missed but always remembered and held in my heart!
