Obituary For Annabella Mae Marchesiani

Annabella Mae (Carter) Marchesiani, lovingly known as Ann, Gramma, or GG, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, just three days shy of her 85th birthday. Born on October 5, 1940, in Quincy, Massachusetts, she lived a life filled with devotion to family, hard work, and simple joys that brought light to those around her.

Ann graduated from Quincy High School in 1960 and went on to dedicate much of her life to nurturing and helping children. She also spent many of her summers helping at Push Cart Farm in Hingham. She worked at Notre Dame and the Norwell School Systems , where her warmth and dedication left a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike. Her passion for caregiving extended far beyond the schools—she found immense joy in babysitting and caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ann’s heart belonged to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her three daughters: Shirley Mortland and her husband Lance Mortland; Anna Corbett and her husband Glenn Corbett; and Bernadette Kingston and her husband Mark Kingston. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren—Samantha, Lance, Caitlin, Nathan, Abbey, Jake, and Nikki—and eleven great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Marchesiani; her parents Harold and Mary Carter; and her brother Peter Carter.

Ann embraced life’s simple pleasures with enthusiasm. She loved sipping coffee while watching game shows or scratching lottery tickets with hopeful anticipation. Bingo nights were a favorite pastime, as were beach walks that allowed her to soak in the beauty of the world around her. Vacations with loved ones created cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who shared them with her.

Her caring nature touched everyone she met. Always ready to lend a hand or offer comfort, Ann was deeply loved by all those she left behind. The memories she created—filled with laughter, kindness, and unwavering support—will be treasured forever.

May Annabella M. Marchesiani’s memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service will be held on October 9, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home located at 135 Union St. Rockland, Ma.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Caring Hospice Services of Massachusetts located at

11 Vanderbilt Avenue, Suite 250, Norwood, MA 02062.
