Obituary For Ann L. May

Ann L. (McNulty) May, 80 of Halifax formerly of Rockland died on July 6, 2009 at the South Shore Hospital after a period of failing health. She was born in Braintree daughter of the late Michael and Lucy (Vears) McNulty and was raised and educated there. She had made her home in Rockland for over 50 years before moving to Halifax 17 years ago. Ann retired in 1989 after serving for nearly ten years as a clerk in the Treasurer-Collectors office for the Town of Rockland. She had previously been employed as a secretary at E.T. Wright Co. and at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home both in Rockland. A former member of the Holy Family Mother’s Club, Ann was also an avid golfer at Rockland Golf Course. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James J. May and her children Kathleen A. Monahan of Weymouth, John M. May of CA, James J. May, Jr. of PA, Paul T. May of NY and Maureen E. Bouchard of NH. She was the sister of Mary F. Burns of Weymouth and the late Charles and George McNulty. Also surviving are her 11 devoted grandchildren. A Funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St ROCKLAND on Friday July 10, 2009 at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9:00AM. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, July 9, 2009 from 5-8 PM. Donations may be made to the charity of the donors choice.

    Dear Mr May and family, I am so sorry to hear about Ann's passing..she was the sweetest woman. When you and Ann came into see Dr Carpenter you both made my day with your smiles and jokes..You will always be in my prays and to think James..We finally found her Medical Chart!     We are deeply saddened at the news of the passing of Mrs May. She was our mother too when we were hanging out with the May family on the corner of Everett and Stanton St. She will always be part of our happy childhood memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
