This man is my friend. Knowing him helped me become a better person, a better father to my son, a better husband to my wife and a better person to all those people around me. At some point in Coast Guard boot camp we were told that we were all brothers of a sort. Al was from a different generation and that makes him a father of a sort rather than a brother and I am so proud of that. He will always be my friend and I will miss him so very much.

God saw you getting tiredand a cure was not to be.So He put His arms around you and whispered “come to me. With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Godspeed Al! I will miss watching RedSox games with you at Smith family BBQ's.

A true Gentleman and so much joy to be around. We sure had a lot of laughs and fun in Florida with Al, He knew everyone in Rockland, so the conversation was always so interesting, He love his winters in Florida with Linda and Jim, and he reallly liked winning Farkle game! We will miss him dearly, but he is in another wonderful place with his dear wife. All who knew him will have the wonderful memories for a long, long time, I know we will. Love to the family, Paul & Ethel (Nichols) Jones.

As I reflect on my memories of my life. Your in a incredible amount of good memories that I have between Christmas eves. July 4'the cookouts. To just visiting you and talking about everything from your days in the service to My daily life. Watching what a respected person you are made me strive to. Be the same way you helped. So many people in your life without even knowing the impact you had on them. Thank you for helping make me the person I am today ...

A great man, grandfather and great grandfather. We will always remember the times with you and fun we had. Having the crayons and paper ready for Meghan and Morgan to draw when we came to visit. The sports gear readily available for Brian to play with in the yard. The candy dishes always filled for all who came by. We always felt your home was open and we were welcomed. The tennis balls, wiffle balls and bats (and other objects) offered to us that were found on your frequent walks. The strawberries transplanted from your garden to ours and sharing the wisdom of your green thumb to make them grow. Lobsters and steamers and others things you provided for all to enjoy at 4th of July cookouts. The stories you shared which filled us with laughter and appreciation of the greatest generation and for your devotion and service to our country. Rest in peace, you will be forever in our hearts. Linda, Chris, Meghan & Brian

I will truly miss Al, with my walks around the neighborhood I used to stop and talk with him, the stories he told will be cherished. What a great man to have in my neighborhood always had a great big smile on his face when me and my boys visited him. My boys loved getting ice cream sandwiches and other stuff from him. I was very grateful to have him as a friend and neighbor. Love Barbie To Al's Family I am truly sorry for your loss....

Hi Grandpa, I hope you and Granny are looking over us and down on us to see and know how much you both were loved. To this day I can see Grandpa cooking the steamers and hot dogs during the summer cookouts we had weekly at your house. Granny having us run and in/out getting things .... letting us help .. lots of memories and fun. Grandpa loving the Red Sox's and Granny loving those Yankee's ... UGH! We had lots of laughs in the back yard on Woodsbury Road Love you both, Patty 🙂

Grandpa You will always be remembered in my heart...that is a quote from Karissa. I feel blessed that my children were able to know you. I am grateful for the time that I had with you, although is still does not seem like enough. You will be remembered for your warm and welcoming personality. We will not watch a red sox game or work in the garden without thinking of you. We love you and will miss you!!!

Al, how fitting it is that you were in a branch of service who's motto is "Semper Paratus" Always Ready. That you were, not just for country but for your family and friends. Always supportive, caring and giving. From my account a shinning example of strength and unconditional love. I believe god calls us when our work here is done and what a fine job you have done. Peace, prayers and blessing to you and your family .

Mr Smith you were a great neighbor, growing up in the neighborhood. You will be missed. But you are most likely planning your next party as you are re-grouping with all other past family members and friends. You will live on though your kids and what a great job you and Mrs Smith did raising them. Til we meet again RIP.
