Obituary For Scott M. Donnelly

Scott M. Donnelly, 47, died on January 18th after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Paul & Pauline Donnelly of Rockland. Scott graduated from Rockland High School in 1991 and joined the US Naval Reserve. He was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in March 2000.

Scott was a talented athlete and excelled at baseball and football. He was the Co-Winner of the Jake Cormier award for being a Rockland Little League MVP while catching for Boston Whaler. He went on to play Varsity football at Rockland High School and made great contributions on the field playing Defensive End and Tight End. He was an avid sports fan cheering for all the Boston teams and he loved working out at the gym.

In his adult years, Scott lived in Florida for many years and enjoyed traveling. He returned to Massachusetts and worked in construction, most recently for Pompeo Contruction of Weymouth.

Scott is survived by his daughter Aiyana Donnelly and her mother Amanda Van Roberts of Idaho, a brother Paul Donnelly and his wife Joanne of Braintree, a sister Judi-anne Field of Holbrook, his neices Ella and Ryleigh, and nephew Owen. Scott is also survived by his longtime friend Jerry Esposito and his family of Rockland.

    I am so sorry for your loss, Scott was a beautiful soul, I hope now he found the peace he deserves. I am completely heartbroken. I meet him back in 2000. This picture is when he come to visit me in Saint Maarten. You will never be forgotten, I will forever love you

    Scott's memory will forever be in my heart. Going over to my Aunt Kay's house (Scott's Grandmother) for a swim in her pool. Doug, Scott, and Judy being there was an especially fond memory for me.     My condolences to The Donnelly's, losing Scott is such a horrible loss. He was a kind man, always , not sure how he and Mr. Jerry Espo were like brothers,LOL. He will be missed by all that is for sure especially his lil precious diamond. I am sure his dad and Mr. Mahoney will have a nice cold one ready for him. He was far too young to leave but he will definitely always be here in memory. My thoughts and prayers to all his family and friends. You as well Jerry Esposito , you were like the two Italian Stallion brothers and I will keep you in my prayers too. God Bless and Amen.
