Obituary For Paul M. Fleming

Paul M. Fleming, 82 of East Bridgewater, formerly of Dorchester passed away suddenly, surrounded by his family.

Paul was born in Dorchester MA on November 9th, 1940 to parents Michael and Mary (Whooley) Fleming. Paul was the beloved father of Nicole Nutt (Fleming) and her husband Robert of West Bridgewater and Shawn Fleming of Whitman. He was the loving Grampy of Eva, Carter and soon to be born Elianna Nutt. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as siblings, Sister Anne Fleming, Sister of Charity, Nova Scotia Canada, Leo Fleming, Eileen Sameski and Sister Mary Fleming, OSF, Tampa Florida.

At the age of 20, Paul enlisted in the US Army as a member of the Heavy Weapons Infantry and received a Medal of Good Conduct after 6 years of service.

Once he returned home from the Army, he was a man of many trades. In his later years, he met his former wife Eileen Millett (Sullivan) and had their two children. Collectively, Paul and Eileen established Fleming’s Corner Store and Pie Shoppe in Whitman where Nicole and Shawn grew up. Paul had a passion for classic cars and going to car shows, but most importantly his children and grandchildren were everything to him.

Visitation services will be held at Magoun-Biggins Funeral home, 135 Union Street, Rockland on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 455 Plymouth Street, Abington on Friday July 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

    I was one of the kids that Paul was always looking out for in Lower Mills. He had a big impact on my life at that time. Rest in peace, Paul.. Lenny O'Hara

    I got to know Paul as a kid when he had the store in Dorchester Lower Mills. A great guy who helped a lot of people. RIP Paul. Dan McDermott
