Obituary For Daniel J. Hennessey

Daniel James Hennessey Daniel Hennessey, 80, died at home surrounded by family after a long illness. He was born November 19, 1941 in South Boston to parents James Hennessey and Mildred (Brennan) Hennessey. Daniel graduated from South Boston High School in 1959 and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy where he was stationed in Kamiseya, Japan until 1965. After his discharge he went to work for the US Postal Service where he worked for 37 years. In 1976 he married the love his life Eileen Feeney and were inseparable until her death in 2018. They loved traveling together and going to the casino whenever possible. A lifelong resident of South Boston he was very active with the South Boston Youth Hockey League and loved sports. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by his sister, Gail Santry. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Hennessey, son James Hennessey and his wife Melissa, along with granddaughter Brittany Korovich and her husband Kaiden. He also leaves behind many nieces and newphews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, October 4th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society.
