Obituary For Christine M. Reske

Christine Margaret (Medico) Reske, a life-long resident of Rockland passed away in her home on July 20, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after living 86 years to the fullest.

She was born in Weymouth on July 10, 1935 to Margaret and Lorenzo Medico. She attended Rockland High School, Class of 1953. She was pre-decreased by her devoted husband of 50 years, Howard Reske Sr. as well as her parents Lorenzo and Margaret Medico, sisters Margaret “Peggy” Hunt, Jean Young and brothers Sonny Medico and James Medico.

Christine was happiest when all of her family was together. She enjoyed hosting holidays at her home on Plain Street, specifically Christmas Eve. She enjoyed spending time with her two sisters Maureen and Peggy. The three of them shared an unbreakable bond. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many events over the years and consequently inherited many of their friends as her own. She was adored by everyone.

She is survived by her two sons Howard Reske Jr. (Duxbury) and his wife June, Thomas Reske (Rockland) and his wife Brenda. Anyone who knew Christine knew that her boys meant the world to her and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them.

She is also survived by her sister Maureen Lee and her husband Rusty and her six grandchildren: Casey Holland and her husband Keith, Kristen McManus and her husband Michael, Kimberly Reske-Melchione and her husband Michael, Amanda Reske, Brian Reske and Christopher Reske. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Allen, Adrian, Wells, Waylynn “Winnie”, Elizabeth “Belle” and Caroline “Callie” as well as several nieces and nephews. She cherished her Saturday visits with Amy and Megan Crabtree.

On behalf of Christine the family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her team for the exceptional care that she was provided: Karen Peterson, PA (Christine’s long time provider and friend), Deepak Chander, MD (Dana Farber), Sara Paulo and Karen Lutz. Christine's family would also like to acknowledge the devotion and express appreciation to the many family members who assisted Christine this past year allowing her to remain in her beloved home on Plain Street.

Christine is also survived by her neighbor of over 60 years, John Shea and her lifetime best friend, Shirley Ruzycki of Abington.

Christine’s family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Monday July 26, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held in The Holy Family Church in Rockland on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.

MY sincere sympathy Tommy, Howie and Maureen for your loss. I have so many nice memory's of when we use to bowl together in Hanover along with her sister Jean who lived right next door to us.
