Obituary For Beverly A. Simpson

Beverly A. Simpson (Catalfamo), 79, of Rockland died on July 21st surrounded by her family. Beverly was born and raised in Dorchester, MA with her brothers John Catalfamo and William Keenan. The only daughter of Margaret and Samuel Catalfamo. Bev was the beloved wife of James F. Simpson Jr. for 43 years until his death in 2012. Loving mother to daughter Cheryl (Frederick) and husband William F. Daley Jr. of Weymouth and her son James F. Simpson III and wife Sheila Simpson of Rockland. Proud and devoted Noni to Christina and Keith Brodeur, Danielle and Derek Wilds, William Daley III, Kyle Daley, Phillip, Samantha, and Johanna Simpson. Great Noni to Alex Anzivino, Thomas and Benjamin Brodeur, and Amelia and Owen Wilds. Proud Aunt to Anthony and Nicci Catalfamo, and Stephanie, Jackie, and Kellie Keenan. Beverly attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School and Massasoit Community College where she started her nursing career. After retiring from nursing, Bev kept herself busy for many years working at the Rockland Memorial Library as a Library Technician. Recently, she spent her time working at the Rockland Public Schools as a cafeteria aide to be close to her great grandchildren. In Bev’s earlier years she devoted her time and energy in support of local law enforcement. Along with her husband Jay and son Jim, Bev spent many years attending fundraisers for local police departments as well as attending National Police Week in Washington, DC. As of late, Bev enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She could be seen the proudest and most energized sitting at the Veterans Memorial Stadium watching her grandson Phillip play football, Bicentennial Park watching her Alex at a track meet, at the Spring Street fields watching Amelia play softball, and with a diet coke in hand watching Thomas, Ben, and Owen swim. Noni (Bev) will be severely missed by her family and friends..

The Simpson family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Beverly’s life on Tuesday July 26, from 4:00-7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 27, at 9:00 am in the Holy Family Church in Rockland.

I am so sad about Beverly she came to work every time we called her with a smile on her face and she was such a joy to be around. I cannot believe she is gone. We wanted to come and pay respects to her wonderful family she talked about always but we were working and had other things going on. We will miss her and I know you have a wonderful angel watching over you all. God bless you all.
